J132 L9 Review Materials

L. 9 Features patterns about how to say what you "decide on" (〜に します) or how to order in restaurants(〜を おねない します, how to make and elicit proposals (V-ましょう、V-ましょうか), and, of courseInterrogatives + か, and the the から/けど patterns as well as the そう/なさそうstructures.

So, you will see sentences in Japanese with two clauses separated by a slash and you figure out whether it should be a から or けど sentence. e.g.

1、安い/買います = 安いから、買います = It's cheap so I will buy it.

2、来週、いそがしい/行きます = 来週 いそがしいけど、行きます= I am busy nextweek but I will go (anyway).

You will also see some Adj., な-Adj. and Verbswhich you have to put into the そう form.

And a few Kanji just for kicks! So...the structure will be:

I. Short oral -- lots of Interrogative + か questions (10)

II. Short written NEGATIVE responses to Interrogative + か questions (5) so you demonstrate how to say いいえ、〜も + V-ません

III. Combine clauses into 1 sentence using either から/けど (10)

IV. Use the そう or なさそう form --cues will be mixed: some will be in Japanese, some in English, eg,you might see 好き or "sweet"

V. English sentences into Japanese (10)

VI. Kanji--6 each of Recognition and Production So maybe fewer items asnd a shorter test than some others?
